About Audit!

Hello everyone! My name is Anthony and I'm the creator of Audit!. This is my first game and I've finally gotten to the point where I'd like to start sharing it with you. Audit! is a light strategy party game for 4-6 players that pokes fun at typical finance tropes. The objective of the game is to be the richest shady millionaire to survive the year's audit. Now, I know what you must be thinking... ew finance. Well… I see your point, however don't worry, there's no complicated math or prior knowledge needed to enjoy this game! The game itself is a simple card game with a bunch of fun events, satirical humor/art and constant player interaction.

Why Finance?

When it comes to game design, I have the belief that you should make games about things you’re knowledgeable about since you can better portray the topic in a way that is enjoyable and humorous, while still feeling authentic. In 2023, I graduated from university and received my BComm majoring in Finance (no not from wallstreetbets university). This is why I thought it would make the most sense to theme my game after my degree.

Shouldn't You be Creating Excel Sheets not Boardgames?

Although I am a freak in the sheets, my true passion is anything gaming related. Ever since I was young you'd always find me with a game in my hands. Life ended up taking me down a different path, however my love for gaming never went away. One day, I was talking with my girlfriend about how I wished I could make a video game, but I didn’t know how to code. She responded with "you play so many boardgames why don't you make one of those instead". Simple as it may be, I had never thought of that. This was the catalyst of my journey and is the reason why you’re reading this today.

To Conclude

Over the next couple months I will be showing you more and more of the game as it reaches completion. I will not just be showing you the finished product, but also concept art and general insights on why I made certain decisions through blog posts.
